Our Paving Process

Asphalt is only as good as what’s underneath. Should you require a new foundation for under your asphalt Sewells Paving can do that.

Ten inches of crushed rock with two inches of asphalt will give you a driveway that will last for years.

Sewells Paving will excavate your driveway twelve inches allowing room for the ten inches of crushed rock and the two inches of asphalt.

Once the old base is removed, Sewells Paving can place a fabric material to add to the stability and prevent material from “wicking” up into the new base over time. This is a very inexpensive and effective method.

After the fabric is placed, Sewells Paving will then add ten inches of crushed rock. The rock is then properly graded and compacted before paving gets underway.

After the new base is constructed, compacting and grading is performed to ensure proper drainage.

Sewells Paving will place the two inches of asphalt giving you a well built driveway to last for several years.
